Top 4 Essential Oils for Mature Skin

~ Best Essential Oils for Mature skin & Anti Aging ~

Many women spend vast amounts of money on skin care creams, potions and facials for their beauty routines. A long term healthy skin regime must start on the inside with a nourishing diet.

Eat Healthy

A diet low in simple carbohydrates and high in good fats, rich in vitamins and proteins all help in supporting our skin and the collagen integrity. External measures is our skin care routines also help our skin retain moisture, stay hydrated and supple. Natural beauty products from nature including pure essential oils and carrier oils are best for our skin due to the lack of toxic chemicals. Some of these toxic chemicals and additives found in our cosmetics can unfortunately cancel out much of the good we achieve through diet and skin care.

Good Skin Starts form the Inside!

Eating nutritious calories on the Paleo diet suggests eating abundant Omega 3 rich foods, vegetables, fruits and meat while removing processed foods and dairy products which often cause food intolerance, digestion and gut issues such as IBS.

A Natural Source of Collegen

Making your own bone stock is also great for our skin. Bone broths and stews are rich in collagen (jelly like) hence helping to make skin healthier and thicker.

Remember that our skin absorbs around 60% of everything we put on it. So analyzing all those possible nasty ingrediants on the label for bought store products is important! It’s similar to the foods we eat, the closer we can be to the natural source of a food the healthier it will be for us. Parabens mimic estrogen and are used to preserve many cosmetics. The problem is that parabens are considered xeno-estrogens which are considered to be estrogen disruptors, linked with breast cancer and reproductive issues. Bad news.

So let’s look at some of the best natural skin care ingredients you can incorporate into your skin care routine. Almond, Jojoba, Olive, Apricot and Avocado Oil are all popular mature skin base carrier oils. The best quality pure essential oils are carefully extracted from plants and not only nourish skin but usually smell amazing!

Why Pure Essential Oils Rock!

Natural oils do not contain compounds that create a problem with our immune system. They are toxic free so can be absorbed safely into our skin. Our skin will stay supple and hydrated. In addition, unlike cheap bought store products, nutrients and proteins in essential oils encourage cell regeneration. They are also known for NOT clogging our pores like some cheap commercial brands do! As we age, dull skin can be a problem so as “Prime women” we need to pay special attention to exfoliating the skin and staying hydrated… both inside and out.

Essential Oil Safety

Natural pure essential oils are safe, however because they are concentrated care must be taken. They need to be diluted about 5%. In usual homemade cosmetic recipes this equates to 1 drop of oil for every 1 ml of base carrier oil.   The usual precautions need to be taken if you are pregnant or for children. The dilution may need to be greater or consult your health professional. Avocado oil, Apricot kernel and Almond Oil are good carrier oils for mature skin. Rosehip Seed Essential Oil is also good for wrinkles and fine lines, but is quite expensive.

  1. What?? Our skin absorbs 60% of what we put in it?! I guess that makes a lot of sense but I just never knew that. I have horrible dry skin, well it’s getting better but it’s still dry. My skin isn’t mature just yet, but I’m sure these tips work for any age. Better to get started now and work it into my routine. Great advice!!
